Rethinking things

My pep has been completely zapped in the four hours of me doing absolutely nothing. Boredom really is a poison I think it really is a dangerous thing. I leads you to watch terrible movies like the one I am watching now. It also leaves you to think, which can end positively or negatively. My thoughts actually lead me to think of a really cute outfit for tomorrow and pushed me to look for some new up do ideas for my hair. This helped me a bit because just in case you didn't know, I am easily pleased. That little something may not completely change my attitude, but it does help to have that little boost. Wow that actually sounds very terrible to me because to me it seemed as if I was one of those people who are addicted to Valium or some other kind of "make me happy" pill. Very interesting although I sincerely hope that I never become overly reliable on anything not even people.

Homecoming Week...

... is finally over. Which makes me both happy and sad. This makes me happy because I no longer feel like I have to be in contact with those that I am not usually in contact with, but on the other hand I wont have as many chances to talk to some of the people that don't usually talk too. Leadership class really is a great way to meet new people and see all sides to them. Even I start to become something like a chameleon depending on what situation I am in. For everyone that went to the dance I hope you had fun because it would be a shame if you didn't. And if you want to have fun next you should come find me and I will lend you some of my perkiness. Oh and how can I forget to mention how good our volleyball and football teams. Homecoming seems like it should be the big game next to the Bell game I suppose. I don't really know anything about football, but I do know how to translate another person's reaction as a sign that we did good. Anyway, I just wanted to show that I am in a really good mood and not even the bad grade I got on my Chemistry test was able to get me down it might have been because I was expecting it, but oh well. I'll just make sure that I actually study next time.

Reasons to do Things

There are many reasons for people to do things. I do things without thinking, because I can and want to, out of spite, or sometimes I do things because people say "please." What I dislike is when my arm is twisted or my feelings manipulated into doing something I wouldn't usually do. Oedipus, Creon, and Antigone all had these problems which gives them an even greater human persona. Instead of just showing their divine and righteous way of life.

Rush in Rio

I wish I was at this concert I am currently watching on VH1 Classics because it seems that if I were only there I could feed of the excitement and other feeling of the crowed and become completely and utterly consumed in every feeling swirly around me. I especially love the expressions of every single one of band members including the drummer. The expression was one of pure ecstasy and joy like the most climatic moment in any sensual experience. If that was fake then bravo! If it was exactly how it appeared then i could truly say congratulations for finding something in life that can make you feel that way. The fact that the could make other people feel same should make them even happier. I know that you are not supposed to covet what another person has, but when I kept seeing that I wanted that feeling. Now all I need to do is find away to achieve that. I doubt it will happen this year, but when it does I will post a blog about it.

"You don't say that out loud."

That was a beautiful quote coming from one of our presidential nominees, Jon McCain. The debate seemed unheated and there was a lot of "that is not what I said." There was also a lot of agreement. I did not noticed to much back and forth which is what a debate should be, well that is what my idea of a debate is.
I agree that you can learn from the past, but the past is the past so it should stay that way especially when it is irrelevant to the current situation. It seems that John McCain has forgot about that and the fact that name dropping (should) mean nothing.
The part about the bracelets was interesting though. Barack Obama had a good comeback to that one and didn't McCain talk about receiving a bracelet at the Republican convention.
Overall I was not completely consumed by this debate except for the fact that the host/ mediator kept getting cut off by the two of them. If that was that I was paying attention to then that says a  very sad thing about my character.
I would also like to know if we have nuclear weapons because I am pretty sure we do, but we still think that no one else can have them without trying to use them. That is very interesting if it is true, but I do understand that some countries are making them to use them.
And I must apologize to Mr. Thompson for posting such a disorganized blog.

You Oedipus

All of the hackneyed phrases used in our culture really goes over my head. A lot of the sayings do not make any sense. Like "close, but no cigar." What were those people doing when they made that up? Some titles that are derived from derogatory meanings are wrong too. Like peon and brown nosesr. If you were to sit for a while and think about what those could mean your mind might wonder into a very pessimistic place. Well I just wanted to post a blog about this because it was on my mind, because that is what blogs are for right..?

Ismene says...

Ismene is the perfect example of a little sister. She is not completely free thinking and tends to follow what her sister Antigone does. So when Antigone comes up with the idea to give their brother Polynieces some sort of burial Ismene was quick to say, "But, Antigone, if things have gone that far what can I do? How could I possibly help?" Ismene was willing to believe in whatever the majority of people was telling her and because she was willing to believe them she limited herself when it came to what she thought she could do.
